Our Specialties

As a design team embedded in Te Toka Tumai, we bring creativity and contextual understanding to address the needs of patients, whānau and staff. We work on spaces, services, experiences, processes, and products. We collaborate to create effective and equitable design solutions.

Explore

Service Design

A design approach that places equal value on the patient and whānau experience and the business process, aiming to create exceptional end-to-end experiences, seamless service delivery, and a holistic understanding of the entire healthcare system.

Experience Design

A research and design process that centers on people’s experiences to drive the design and features of products, processes, environments, and strategies. It draws on multiple users’ needs, feelings, contexts, and mindsets to create things that center on them.

Co-design

A participatory approach to designing solutions, in which community members are treated as equal collaborators in the design process. There is a large focus on building authentic relationships among the co-designers, power-sharing and learning together.

Make

Visual Design

The design of visual concepts to communicate information. Create everything from posters to packaging, logos and marketing materials. Visual Designers use elements such as shapes, colours, typography, images and more to convey ideas to an audience.

Product Design

The design of physical objects, focusing on their relationship to the people using them and their situated environments. 3D printing give us an edge, enabling us to prototype and materialise ideas quickly at low cost, and visualise and test potential solutions

Spatial Design

The design of physical spaces with an emphasis on the way users experience them. We look to understand and support the needs and preferences of our all stakeholders, supporting clinical departments by creating a healing environment.
